ROY KEANE’S punditry highlights from Euro 2020 have been released with them demonstrating the Ireland icon at his funniest…and also angriest.

Known for always playing on the edge, the 49-year-old has brought a similar intensity to his media work over the years with Sky and ITV.

And now ITV have treated fans to a compilation of his best quips as well as the more serious moments where he tore strips into some of the biggest stars in the modern game.

Over the course of the tournament, Keane’s presence was a source of fascination for fans from his sudden change in facial hair to his subtle dig at former Arsenal rival Patrick Vieira through his choice of top.

When it came to what he actually said though, there was plenty that left fans chuckling, enraged and captivated in equal measure.

One memorable moment came after the final when he named Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling as two English players who should’ve stepped up to take a penalty in the shootout ahead of younger teammates like Bukayo Saka.

CAUSED A STIR

In a sign that Keane’s voice still resonates with current players despite his failings as a manager, Grealish felt compelled to fire back at him over the criticism.

Keane had said: “If you’re Sterling or Grealish, you cannot sit there and have a young kid [Saka] go up for a penalty ahead of you, you can’t.

“You cannot let a shy 19-year-old go up in front of you.

“They have a lot more experience, Sterling has won trophies, they had to get in front of the young kid and stand up.”

To which the Aston Villa talisman responded: “I said I wanted to take one!!!! The gaffer has made so many right decisions through this tournament and he did tonight!

“But I won’t have people say that I didn’t want to take a peno when I said I will.”
