Joe Hart breaks Celtic transfer silence as Tottenham keeper attempts to main focus at eye of storm https://ift.tt/37cWVpq
CELTIC target Joe Hart has broken his silence as transfer intrigue continues to link him with a move to Celtic.
The Hoops are locked in talks with the Premier League side over a deal for the former England No1 – after re-heating their interest in a player they considered when he left Burnley last season.
Spurs are thought to be holding out for £1m for a player who has a year left on his contract but has slipped down the pecking order following the arrival of Pierluigi Gollini.
But a deal could be done – with new Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou well aware he has to bolster his goalkeeping options with neither Vasilis Barkas and Scott Bain convincing as a starting option.

Hart didn’t make a single top team league start for Spurs last season.
But he took to Instagram today to insist that he wasn’t taking his eye off the ball when it came to his training.
He wrote: “Nothing but focus, no matter what #relentless”
Celts could have signed Hart for nothing last summer – but opted to splash out £5m on Greek flop Vasilis Barkas.
Man City legend Hart is understood to be earning around £50,000-a-week at Tottenham, despite slipping to third-choice keeper.
He would have to accept a significant pay cut if a deal to Celtic Park is to materalise.

Tottenham dealt massive transfer blow as Barcelona launch bid to hijack Cristian Romero and Atalanta prepared to sell https://ift.tt/3BWR59Y
BARCELONA are ready to hijack Tottenham bid for Cristian Romero, reports suggest.
That is according to Sportitalia reporter Gianluigi Longari, who claims that Barca made their first bid for Atalanta star Romero on Wednesday.
Longari tweeted yesterday: “#Barcelona for #Romero. Today the first proposal was presented to #Atalanta.
“As anticipated the #Blaugrana are serious for the Argentine defender who is also highly requested by #Tottenham.”
That is a significant blow for Spurs, who are on the lookout for a highly-rated defender to replace Toby Alderweireld.
Alderweireld has left the North Londoners after six years of immense contribution and joined Al-Duhail.
Tottenham are now hoping to replace the Belgium international with Romero as the club’s new technical director Fabio Paratici is looking to rebuild the squad
Chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly made a £42million offer for the centre-back.
However, this figure is still far off Atalanta’s £51m asking price for the 23-year-old, whose stock rose after helping Argentina win this summer’s Copa America.
Barcelona are expected to have the same problem as they are dealing with a financial mess due to the coronavirus pandemic.

That means the Blaugrana will have to offload some players first in order to balance the books.
Romero joined Atalanta on loan from Juventus last year on a two-year deal with an option to buy for around £14m.
The Dea are set to trigger the Argentine’s release clause and sell him immediately for a significant profit.

Lionel Messi’s wife Antonela stuns in micro bikini as she sits on edge of yacht on holiday in Dominican Republic https://ift.tt/3rypHdv
LIONEL Messi’s teenage sweetheart wowed fans with a smile and a micro bikini in a stunning picture postcard of their dream Caribbean holiday.
Mum-of-three Antonela Roccuzzo set pulses racing with a daring pose on a yacht overlooking the turquoise sea of the Dominican Republic where she has been enjoying some R&R with the Barcelona star and their children.
They moved on to the paradise island from Miami where they rented a luxury mansion and met up with the footballer’s family after Argentina’s historic Copa America triumph.
The star couple have been treating their Instagram followers to glimpses of their sunshine break.
Messi, who is yet to sign his anticipated new contract with Barcelona after becoming a free agent at the end of May, posted a touching video over the weekend showing him enjoying an underwater kiss and cuddle with his wife of four years.
One fan reacted to the sexy photo of Antonela, which was liked by nearly 1.5 million people in the first six hours after it was published, by saying: “This girl is on fire.”
Another joked in a message to Messi posted on the pretty brunette’s Instagram: “@leomessi do you not get tried of winning everywhere you go!”
The Barcelona frontman was also quick to congratulate her with fire emojis.
Messi and his family are believed to be staying at the exclusive Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic, a 7,000-acre resort less than an hour’s drive from Santo Domingo International Airport where stars including Beyonce and Michael Jordan have holidayed.
It is owned by a Florida-based Cuban businessman, friend of the former King of Spain and his three brothers through their companies.
Travel reviews describe Casa de Campo as a “preferred Caribbean jet-set getaway and golf haven” which has “set the benchmark for luxury travel in the Dominican Republic since the 70s.”
Celeb visitors have included Beyonce and Jay-Z, late fashion idol Oscar de la Renta, the Kardashians and Michael Jordan, who hosted his bachelor party at Villa Vogue at Casa de Campo in 2013.
The Kardashian family filmed two episodes of the hit ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ reality TV show at Casa de Campo.
Messi is not expected to return to Spain until next month.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner has reportedly agreed to take a 50 per cent pay cut as part of a new deal he has agreed to in principle with his lifelong club, but will be offered a five-year deal instead of the two years initially talked about.
A lower salary for Messi is key to keeping him at the LaLiga side because of its troubled financial situation.
Former Man City striker Sergio Aguero signed for Barcelona at the end of May.
Barcelona frontman Antoine Griezmann has been linked to a return to old side Atletico Madrid as part of a swap deal with Saul Niguez to help with the operation to keep Messi at the Camp Nou.

Man Utd FINALLY announce Jadon Sancho as England star vows to bring back glory days after ‘dream’ £73m transfer https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
MANCHESTER UNITED have confirmed the signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73million.
The 21-year-old’s decision to join the Red Devils completes one of the longest running transfer stories in European football.
The England winger has agreed a five-year deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a further year.
Sancho told United’s official website: “I’ll always be grateful to Dortmund for giving me the opportunity to play first team football, although I always knew that I would return to England one day.
“The chance to join Manchester United is a dream come true and I just cannot wait to perform in the Premier League.
“This is a young and exciting squad and I know, together, we can develop into something special to bring the success that the fans deserve.
“I am looking forward to working with the Manager and his coaching team to further develop my game.”
Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Sancho joins Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side after an excellent four-year spell at Dortmund, where he scored 50 goals in all competitions.
The former Manchester City youth prospect won the German Cup and broke into the England senior team during his time abroad.
United boss Solskjaer is delighted to finally bring Sancho to Old Trafford after spending most of last summer pursuing the talent.
The 48-year-old coach added: “Jadon epitomises the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United.
“He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom.
“His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair and creativity to the team.
“Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level.
“For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad.
“We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.”
Sancho’s £73m move to Old Trafford was confirmed on July 1 and it makes him the second most expensive England player of all time.

Gray came through the ranks at Birmingham before a move to Leicester midway through the Foxes’ 2015-16 Premier League title triumph.
But he was allowed to leave in January this year after falling out of favour under Brendan Rodgers, joining Bundesliga side Leverkusen, where he made 12 appearances and scored one goal.
Gray told the Everton website: “I’m delighted to be back in the Premier League at such a big club and I’m excited to play with the team and get to work.
“Speaking to the manager [Rafa Benitez] and [director of football] Marcel Brands, I had a really good feel for the club and I feel this is a place where I can continue to develop.
Everton are a very big club and the main objective is to be pushing and competing back up there in the table.
Demarai Gray
“The manager, with his ambition and what he has won in the past, is important and we’ll look to push forward and compete with the top clubs. I think a club of this magnitude has all the potential to be right up there.
“Everton are a very big club and the main objective is to be pushing and competing back up there in the table.”
The Toffees have handed Gray the No11 shirt and hold the option to extend his contract for a fourth year.
He follows goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and fellow forward Andros Townsend through the door ahead of Rafa Benitez’s first campaign in charge.
Everton are currently in Orlando for the Florida Cup and Gray may make his first appearance for the club against Millonarios on Sunday night.
The former England Under-21 star added: “For me, the targets that I’ve set myself and what the club’s ambitions are, collectively everything felt right to me to join Everton.
“I want to push on, be a pivotal player in the squad, and help the team score goals and assist goals.
“I’m a speedy, tricky winger. I enjoy running with the ball, roaming around the pitch.

“I like to play anywhere along the front three and I feel like I can be dangerous in all areas.
“And with the ability I know I have and the belief I have in myself, I think I can add to this team.
“I feel like I’m at a stage in my career now where I can put everything together.
“There are areas of my game where I still want to improve and become better at. I’m excited to kick on.”

Watch Ravel Morrison’s Derby highlights against Man Utd as football world including Ian Wright praise his performance https://ift.tt/3gQvWTL
RAVEL MORRISON showed Derby fans a glimpse of his potential in his first appearance for the club against Manchester United.
The Rams are reportedly set to offer the 28-year-old a contract as he finally looks to nail down a long stay at a club.
Wayne Rooney handed Morrison a start against his old club in the 2-1 pre-season defeat.
And the midfielder’s highlights reel, posted on his Instagram, showed a number of impressive touches that delighted his fellow pros.
Ian Wright, Derby’s Colin Kazim-Richards, Andre Gray and Reece Oxford were among the famous faces showing their appreciation for Morrison in the comments section.
Wright posted a love heart emoji under the video while West Brom forward Callum Robinson commented: “Things you love to see.”
Southampton’s Nathan Redmond added: “Enjoyment.”
And Todd Kane of QPR posted: “Playing in the park geez.”

Among Morrison‘s contributions were a number of times he showed for the ball and moved possession on, an instance of hassling Tahith Chong for possession, and a cute backheel pass in the final third.
The Telegraph claim that Derby will offer Morrison a contract after the Football League loosened the Championship side’s transfer embargo.
The former United prospect is a free agent after leaving Dutch side ADO Den Haag in January, following short spells with Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.

Rams boss Rooney, 35, believes he can get the best out of Morrison, who was once touted as a supreme talent.
He said post-game: “Ravel had little flashes, moments.
“That was Ravel’s first game in a long time so you could see he was feeling it.
“Ravel’s a very nice lad, a bit misunderstood at times. But it’s my job to make sure I can get the best out of him, I’m confident I can do that.
“I have to manage him right and I have no worries about that.”

Watch: Roy Keane’s punditry highlights from Euro 2020 showcase Ireland legend at his funniest…and also angriest https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
ROY KEANE’S punditry highlights from Euro 2020 have been released with them demonstrating the Ireland icon at his funniest…and also angriest.
Known for always playing on the edge, the 49-year-old has brought a similar intensity to his media work over the years with Sky and ITV.
And now ITV have treated fans to a compilation of his best quips as well as the more serious moments where he tore strips into some of the biggest stars in the modern game.
Over the course of the tournament, Keane’s presence was a source of fascination for fans from his sudden change in facial hair to his subtle dig at former Arsenal rival Patrick Vieira through his choice of top.
When it came to what he actually said though, there was plenty that left fans chuckling, enraged and captivated in equal measure.
One memorable moment came after the final when he named Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling as two English players who should’ve stepped up to take a penalty in the shootout ahead of younger teammates like Bukayo Saka.
CAUSED A STIR
In a sign that Keane’s voice still resonates with current players despite his failings as a manager, Grealish felt compelled to fire back at him over the criticism.
Keane had said: “If you’re Sterling or Grealish, you cannot sit there and have a young kid [Saka] go up for a penalty ahead of you, you can’t.
“You cannot let a shy 19-year-old go up in front of you.

“They have a lot more experience, Sterling has won trophies, they had to get in front of the young kid and stand up.”
To which the Aston Villa talisman responded: “I said I wanted to take one!!!! The gaffer has made so many right decisions through this tournament and he did tonight!
“But I won’t have people say that I didn’t want to take a peno when I said I will.”
