How Chelsea could line-up at Juventus with Ruben Loftus-Cheek set to be handed shock start but Mason Mount still out https://ift.tt/3m4YNrp
THOMAS TUCHEL will take his Chelsea squad to Juventus without a number of big-name players.
Mason Mount and Christian Pulisic are unlikely to be fit in time for the Blues‘ second Champions League group game of the season.
The West Londoners beat Zenit St Petersburg 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in their competition opener.
But a trip to Juventus should prove a sterner test, despite the Serie A side’s turbulent start to the season.
And Tuchel will be forced into a defensive reshuffle after Reece James injured his ankle during the 1-0 Premier League defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Saturday.
Cesar Azpilicueta is likely to take his place at right-wing-back, with Thiago Silva returning to the heart of defence.
The Brazilian veteran will partner Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen in a back-three.
Marcos Alonso is almost certain to continue on the left flank as Ben Chilwell remains frozen out.

With the games coming thick and fast, Tuchel could decide to rest N’Golo Kante after the midfield dynamo’s recent injury struggles.
That could mean Ruben Loftus-Cheek is given the chance to maintain his strong form in the heart of midfield alongside Jorginho.
Mateo Kovacic is another midfield star pushing for a start at the Allianz Stadium.
Kai Havertz is hoping to return to the starting XI in Italy and could start in a front-three alongside Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku.
Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi are other attacking options at Tuchel’s disposal, with the England man also a more attacking option to replace James on the right wing.
Chelsea travel to Italy to face Juventus on Wednesday, with kick-off 8pm.

How Man Utd could line-up against Villarreal with Donny van de Beek snubbed again in midfield and still no Rashford https://ift.tt/3kTCTYR
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has a fistful of selection dilemmas to sweat over as he prepares for Manchester United’s vital showdown with Villarreal.
The Red Devils slipped to a shock defeat their Champions League group stage opener 2-1 at Young Boys.
United have now lost three of their last four matches in all competitions and go into the game against the LaLiga giants – who beat them to lift last season’s Europa League crown – with a decimated defence.
Solskjaer saw star men Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw limp off during the dramatic defeat against Aston Villa on Saturday with the boss admitting it ‘doesn’t look good’ for Wednesday night.
And with Aaron Wan-Bissaka following his red card against Young Boys, the United boss has very few options.
David de Gea is expected to keep Dean Henderson out of the team, while Diogo Dalot will likely replace Wan-Bissaka on the right.
Victor Lindelof is set to beat Eric Bailly to the starting line up, partnering Champions League veteran Raphael Varane in the heart of defence.
Alex Telles has only recently returned from injury, but will almost certainly have to start the game at Old Trafford.

In midfield, Fred and Scott McTominay are likely to start in the two deeper roles.
Paul Pogba could keep his place in a more advanced, left-sided role with Mason Greenwood keeping struggling Jadon Sancho out of the team on the right flank.
Bruno Fernandes should start at No10, meaning no place in the team for Donny van de Beek or Jesse lingard.
Cristiano Ronaldo could start at centre forward, breaking Iker Casillas’ record for most Champions League appearances in the process.
Marcus Rashford is edging towards a first-team return following shoulder surgery, but Villarreal will likely come too soon for him.
But Solskjaer could look to roll the dice and field an all-out attacking lineup in a desperate bid to get his hands on a much-needed three points – for his own job security as well as his team’s European hopes.
Pogba could slot in beside McTominay at Fred’s expense, with Ronaldo slipping out into a wide-left role, with Edinson Cavani through the middle.
Man Utd host Villarreal at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, with kick-off 8pm.

NOTHING could wipe the smile off Tony Adams’ face after Arsenal stormed into a 3-0 lead against Tottenham on Sunday.
The ex-Gunners skipper was delighted after his old team’s brilliant first-half performance – but Spurs icon Ledley King was far from happy.

Adams and King appeared on punditry for Sky Sports as the broadcasters covered the North London derby.
Following an incredible opening 45 minutes of football, presenter David Jones asked: “Hands up if you saw that coming?”
As King remained still, Adams laughed and stuck his right hand up in the air like Newcastle legend Alan Shearer celebrating a goal.
Jones chuckled and responded: “Oh Ledley, what a look from you! Crikey! Tony’s been grinning like a Cheshire Cat.”
To which a giggling Adams sarcastically replied: “Yeah, I’m not enjoying this at all!

Chelsea will NOT win Premier League this season with City champions and Man Utd second, reveals supercomputer https://ift.tt/2Zje0gy
CHELSEA will NOT win the Premier League this season, according to a supercomputer.
The Blues currently sit top of the table, albeit on alphabetical order thanks to Liverpool’s identical record, with expectations high following an excellent start to the season.
With Thomas Tuchel embarking on his first full season as manager at Stamford Bridge and the return of Romelu Lukaku in a £97.5million deal, it’s easy to see why Chelsea are expected to challenge for the title.
But despite that, CIES Football Observatory‘s supercomputer has the West Londoners finishing way off the pace.
In fact, Chelsea are predicted to be finish FOURTH based on their stats-based algorithm.
CIES Football observatory take a host of information into consideration when crunching the numbers, including form over the past year, transfer fees spent and even individual player experience.
And for those reasons, Manchester City are being tipped to win the Premier League crown yet again – their fourth title in five years.
Fresh from a huge summer, including the return of Cristiano Ronaldo, arrival of Jadon Sancho and signing of Raphael Varane, Manchester United are expected to finish second again, as they did in 2020-21.

It’s predicted Liverpool – finally boasting a fully-fit defence, while reinforcing with the signing of Ibrahima Konate – will finish third for a second straight season.
With Chelsea set to finish fourth, the Premier League top-four is expected to look identical to last term, according to CIES Football Observatory.
Tottenham, Everton, Leicester and West Ham will lead the charge for the remaining European places, with Arsenal way down in NINTH, according to the prediction.
At the other end of the table, struggling Norwich are expected to finish bottom.
They’re joined by Watford and Newcastle in the relegation places.
Newcomers Brentford are being tipped to survive in 16th place, ahead of Burnley and just below Leeds, who sit a surprisingly-low 15th.

Liverpool flop Mignolet taunts Messi, Neymar and Mbappe and boasts ‘I didn’t have much to do’ against PSG https://ift.tt/2Q2AIll
LIVERPOOL’S former flop goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has mocked Paris Saint-Germain after Club Brugge held them to a draw.
The Ligue 1 giants unleashed their star-studded frontline of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe for the first time last night.
But the Argentinian legend and his strike partners were unable to find the net as PSG could only muster a 1-1 draw in their opening Champions League game thanks to Ander Herrera.
Mignolet, 33, moved to Brugge from Anfield in 2019 and he could not resist taking a cheeky jab at the iconic attack he managed to keep out.
The Belgian international said: “I didn’t really have much work to do.
“We played very well collectively.
“We didn’t give an incredible attack chances. You cannot mark them one-on-one, they have so much quality to beat their man.
“We tried to defend collectively to not leave them any space.

“I made two, three saves, not very difficult ones at that.”
Messi will be hoping to end his PSG duck when they take on Lyon over the weekend.
And he, Mbappe and Neymar will be looking to make Mignolet choke on his words when the two sides lock horns again at Parc des Princes on December 7.

Man Utd fans go wild for Bruno Fernandes’ ‘world class’ touch in win over Newcastle as he controls ball with ease https://ift.tt/390TH9t
MANCHESTER UNITED fans might have been blessed with the return of the great Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford on Saturday, but another Portuguese magician had them salivating too.
Bruno Fernandes pulled off a sublime piece of skill to pluck a high ball from the sky and beat Ciaran Clark as the Red Devils swept past Newcastle 4-1.
What about the touch @B_Fernandes8 pic.twitter.com/VXt8M9XPH1
— BrunoXtra (@FernandesZone) September 12, 2021
The touch was hailed as “world class” by United fans, who were quick to praise the 27-year-old midfielder’s fancy footwork.
User ThCharlesPrince was left stunned as he claimed: “This man is sick. Very sick…”
SWajAli hailed Fernandes as United’s “resident maestro” while Everestohika declared “Bruno Fernandes is a nightmare to all epl defenders”.
One user ‘RedWoody91’ joked “But he only does penalties?” after jibes all Fernandes is good for is scoring from the spot.

Fernandes capped off a fine performance with a goal from range to join countryman Ronaldo and England’s Jesse Lingard on the scoresheet as United showed off their embarrassment of attacking riches.
Such is the improvement in United’s attacking threat that wantaway midfielder Paul Pogba is now thought to be keen to stay at the club next summer.
Pogba has been the subject of transfer speculation, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain known to be long-term suitors of the France midfielder.
But with Ronaldo joining the likes of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane in arriving at old Trafford this season, United are expected to make a serious challenge for the Premier League title.
No wonder United fans are excited, with user whythisthought tweeting simply: “Bruno Fernandes, Paul Pogba, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane all play for my club. What a time.”
